Welcome to our class blog site! Here are ideas to think about as you become ready to write your first or second post: Think about the exposition of the novel. What is unusual or striking about the setting and/or the characters you first meet? What are your thoughts about the diction, style, narration, etc.?

  1. My favorite quote from this novel was at the end when Orwell says, “The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.” I love this quote because throughout the entire book, I as the reader realized that the pigs were becoming more and more humanlike, while the other animals never seemed to notice how much was different. I like that at the end of the book, FINALLY, the animals realize what truly happened to the pigs. Although I feel bad for the animals for getting treated so badly for such a long time, I can't help but appreciate the pigs' cunning mindsets and the way they tricked the animals into allowing themselves to be treated as poorly as they were treated. It's surprising how far they were able to go to gain power and keep it.

  2. "All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others."
I like this like because it perfectly summarizes the overwhelming absurdity of life on Animal Farm.

  3. "The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which." I just think this is a fantastic way to end the book, since as a reader we have noticed this all along like Benjamin has. However, no all the other animals do to. From this though, it make me want a sequel to see do the animals rise against the pigs as they are no like man? Lastly, it is deeply saddening to me that Clover starts to get whats is going on right at the end when it is to late.

  4. You can also post under the Animal Farm page tab, too. Good luck - I know some are having trouble. Go figure...
